Jenny has been attracted to the natural world since she was a child. At Colorado State University, her passion for plants grew while attending a Medicinal Plants Class. She even accompanied the professor along with fellow students to visit the beneficial plants of Peru. This appreciation carried over into the gardens of New Belgium Brewery, which she tended to for over a decade. She planted demonstration gardens including hops and a variety of herbs that would go into the unique taste profile of each beer brewed. She started to get creative with plants aesthetically, with a sense that soil was her canvas and plants were her medium. She began to search out a variety of uses for plants beyond culinary. She became crafty; pressing flowers, making soaps, catnip toys, lavender & hop pillows, smudge sticks and salves. She sought to further employment in the herbal realm and was hired as the Quality Control Manager at Motherlove Herbal Company. From there, she returned to the studies of medicinal plants and attended Rosemary Gladstar's Mountain Sage Online Herbal Course. She went to trade shows, workshops, seminars and conferences. She became skilled at the Organoleptic Analysis of plant materials. She started tincturing plants that grew in her own garden. She made body care products and once again fell in love with plants. She sits with the plants, she listens to the plants, and she learns from the plants as they are powerful allies.
